Privacy policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This policy explains what personal information StackProbe collects through this website, why, and what we do with it. StackProbe is operated by IT Works Managed Services (“we”, “us”), a business based in Airdrie, Alberta, Canada. We follow Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), Canada’s federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies, and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
The short version
- We only collect what you type into our forms, plus website statistics. Analytics cookies are off unless you allow them.
- We use it to answer you. We don’t sell it, rent it or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
- We only email you about other things if you tick the box that says we can.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
What we collect
When you fill in a form (the free stack check, the contact form or the partner waitlist), we collect what you enter: usually your name, business name, email address, optional phone number, your answers, and which consent boxes you ticked and when.
When you visit the website, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. The first time you visit, we ask whether Google Analytics may use cookies.
- If you click “Allow”, Google Analytics sets cookies that let it recognise your browser on later visits, so we can see things like how many visitors come back. It doesn’t tell us who you are.
- If you click “No thanks”, or don’t answer, no analytics cookies are set. Google still receives a basic, cookieless signal that a page was viewed, without anything that recognises your browser.
You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. We’ve turned off Google’s advertising features: your visit isn’t used for ads.
The site also stores two settings in your browser that never leave your device: your light or dark mode choice, and your answer about analytics cookies.
Why we collect it
- To prepare and send the report you asked for, answer your message, or contact you about the partner program.
- If you ticked the optional box, to email you occasionally about StackProbe’s services.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the website is used so we can improve it.
We don’t use your answers to make automated decisions about you.
Consent and emails
We ask for your consent on every form. The box that lets us reply to your request is required, because we can’t send a report or answer without it. The box for other emails is optional and unticked. We never add anyone to a mailing list automatically. Every marketing email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and we act on unsubscribe requests within 10 business days, as CASL requires.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers to run the website. They handle your information only on our behalf, for the purposes listed in the table.
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Formspree | Receives form submissions and forwards them to our inbox | United States |
| Microsoft Azure | Hosts the website | Global network, including the United States |
| Google (Google Analytics) | Visit statistics, as described above | United States and other countries |
| Microsoft 365 | Our email, where form submissions arrive | Canada |
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. While it’s there, it’s subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to authorities under those laws. We choose providers with appropriate safeguards. If you have questions about how our service providers outside Canada handle your information, contact our privacy contact at info@stackprobe.io.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, and for no more than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client, in which case your client agreement applies. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
How we protect it
Form submissions travel over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to them is limited to the people who need it to respond.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you,
- correct anything that’s wrong,
- delete it, or
- stop emailing you.
Email our privacy contact at info@stackprobe.io. We’ll respond within 30 days, and in any case within the 45 days Alberta’s PIPA allows. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada where federal law applies.
Clients of the StackProbe service
If your business uses StackProbe, the business data we handle in your workspace is covered by your service agreement and data-processing terms, not this website policy. Those terms describe where data is stored, how long it’s kept and how it’s protected.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you’ve already given us, we’ll ask for your consent again.
